This is an exciting opportunity to relocate to Dubai and work with one of the region's largest media companies! ITP Consumer Publishing is looking for an ambitious and talented Group Art Director to manage and lead the art direction and design of the magazines, digital platforms and all brand extensions including events, working in collaboration with Marketing and Editorial and reporting to the Editor in Chief. Key duties and responsibilities: To work across the entire Bazaar brand portfolio, which includes, but is not limited to; ART, Interiors, Junior, Bride, Qatar, and Best Dressed. As well as designing events and marketing collateral, whilst also assisting the Online Editor with images for social media and Bazaar's soon-to-be-launched website Source and manage freelance designers for key projects at busy times, when the existing team are at maximum capacity - this is often to design supplement titles To work closely with the Picture Editor to come up with creative concepts for still-lives, occasionally at short notice. When required you will assist the Fashion Director on celebrity and real women photo shoots, both locally and internationally Have the confidence to take the initiative and work with a small team and to be prepared to work long hours to reach tight editorial and commercial deadlines when needed A working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is essential. Knowledge of digital/online design is preferred, but a desire to learn more and be trained in this area is key To respect the editorial integrity and international guidelines of the brands when producing the magazine To understand and work within the commercial realities of publishing in the Middle East and the pressures of the current climate To work closely with Hearst Media International, HQ in NYC, and leverage on the resource and team in place, as well as working in line with their international brand guidelines, and managing necessary approvals on local content from international Hearst offices, e.g. covers Additional skills required: Creative Direction beyond the Art Direction of the magazine Management of the Art Directors Brand and product development from a design POV Ability to work well under pressure and maintain high attention to detail Sensitivity to the specific requirements and cultural considerations presented by this region A very good understanding of media and the media market place, but not defined by it and most definitely able to think outside its traditional parameters Desired profile: The type of candidate who will be successful in this role is someone who understands media as a whole, but is specifically experienced in print. You must have a minimum of five years' experience at Art Director level, on an international women's fashion title. Crucially, you must be flexible and have a can-do, positive attitude which shows you are respectful, responsible and dedicated and by default demonstrate passion, brand understanding and leadership. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, proactive and tenacious and likes to work in a multicultural environment. An individual who is accountable, socially smart and extremely organised, someone who uses their own initiative and loves to communicate and work as part of a team.
